New Thought is a spiritually motivated way of life. The phrase is inspired by the ancient principle that “a new thought produces a new condition.” The founders of New Thought, living in the late 19th century, offered a new perspective on religion and spirituality, interpreting scripture metaphysically and metaphorically.
As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. ~ Jesus
All that we are is a result of what we have thought. ~ Buddha
New Thought has continued to evolve in these ways:
- The International New Thought Alliance was formed in 1914 and is a global organization dedicated to the spiritual enlightenment and transformation of the individual and the world.
- The Association for Global New Thought was organized in 1996 and has a great website with history and current inspiring projects ~ worth exploring!
